SOS FROM THE DEAD CENTRE
Our desert friends from The Black Wreath need your help. They’ve launched a campaign to save the venue, one that has seen musos from a wide range of genres perform over the years, making it an institution for live music in Mparntwe/ Alice Springs.
With the closure of Epilogue Lounge earlier this year, the need to support live music in the desert has never been more crucial, for artists and punters alike. We wanted to help them out by sharing excerpts from their campaign with you, which would also see the continuation of Blacken Open Air Festival. Please read on and consider pledging to support them so they can continue to operate in the years to come.

[WE'VE LAUNCHED] OUR campaign to Save The Black Wreath. We’ve spent the last six months working on this. We have just one shot at it. It’s extremely ambitious, but the level of positive feedback we’re getting so early on is really encouraging. So far over $400,000 has been pledged … We’re well on our way! Thank you so much to the early adopters. If we can pull this off, The Black Wreath will live forever.
… If it fails, no money is taken, so there’s nothing to lose. But that’s not going to happen, because there are way too many good people getting behind it!
We have the greatest community in the world, and our entire existence is thanks to you guys and the support you’ve shown for Blacken Open Air. We want to continue doing this forever, and we have announced plans for exactly that. The Blacken Open Air trilogy is a two-year journey, taking heavy music to new places. Our Blacken ethos is much more than just music. We thrive at the intersection of metal, nature and community.
So, if you believe in what we do, and want to experience this new era with us, please, please, please get behind the Pozible campaign. We’re not asking for donations, we’re just looking for a pre-commitment. A commitment to metal, to community, and to music thriving in the most remote places on Earth.
The loss of The Black Wreath venue would be devastating to our community and would seriously damage the local music industry. The stakes are high, so we’re giving this everything. We’re running the campaign until September 12. On that day, some big things are going down around the country.
In return for your pledge, we will continue to deliver the greatest festivals on the planet and take heavy music where it's never been before! Please share it far and wide, with whoever will listen and help where you can. If you love what we do, we really need you right now. Let’s make sure Blacken and The Black Wreath can continue forever, and together we’ll make heavy metal history.
