Hello sunshine, beach, delicious grub and cheeky cocktails! Darwin’s very own beach club has returned this Dry, offering relaxation hunters, food fans and cocktail enthusiasts the ultimate summer vibe.

Kicking off in 2020 when COVID had well and truly sunk its claws in – and many a Territorian missing the annual commute to Bali – Waterfront Beach Club offered locals (and any lucky visitors at the time) the chance to kick back and chill by the water, cocktail in hand.
The liquor license was relaxed to allow sun chasers to take a tipple on a daybed, and food could be ordered online from local vendors, ensuring local biz was supported in what was a very challenging time for the hospitality industry.
After running the Beach Club for two years, it looks like it’s here to stay.
“Initially created to allow people to enjoy food and beverages from local restaurants in a COVID safe manner, the Beach Club now provides a destination for locals and visitors alike to unwind and relax,” says Waterfront Senior Events and Marketing Coordinator, Yasmine Welsh.
“It’s pumping at the moment! The aqua park has just expanded and the Ferris Wheel is back. It’s been a hard time for our businesses, but they’ve come out the other side, and grown and evolved. We encourage everyone to come down and enjoy the best of the Dry season at Darwin Waterfront!”
This year, Darwin Waterfront has upped the ante, implementing a fully-fledged Beach Bar. Bask in the tropical atmosphere while indulging in some tasty local fare and chilled bevs. A real bonus – no matter what vibe you’re up for – you’re sorted.
Champagne and oysters? Look at you, so fancy. Bao buns and beer? Too easy. Pizza and pína coladas? Interesting combo, but who are we to judge. Why not treat yourself to a Mexican fiesta before taking a siesta on one of the comfy sun lounges? Arriba!
Waterfront Beach Club is open Friday to Sunday, with live tunes every Sunday arvy. Fresh food and cold concoctions, served in the sunshine by the seaside? Yes, ploise. Roll in to Waterfront Beach Club for some maxo relaxo.
