The Loading Bay’s food, cocktails and signage have been the talk of the town since the door was rolled up on the new venue.
The latest addition to Little Miss Korea in Austin Lane has all the delicious flavours of LMK on the menu, plus a huge range of beer, cocktails and gin.
Owner Sam Lee says their South Korean barman Jun Young has just arrived from working in Singapore and is spicing up the cocktail scene.
“He’s very friendly and fresh to Darwin and loving chatting with all the Aussies,” she says.
“He’s really passionate and spends hours making his garnishes for the gin cocktails.”
The quirky venue has an artistic sign to match the colourful alleyway it’s attached to – a posterized image of a certain international dictator in a wrestling mask.
“People keep asking if it’s my husband (and LMK chef) Chung Lee or Kim Jong Un,” Lee laughs.
Lee says the venue, which fits up to 60 people, is proving to be a popular spot for birthday parties and small functions.
“It’s a great spot for intimate parties,” she says.
“You can get delicious food and great cocktails and it’s pretty easy for the birthday person because they really just want to enjoy themselves.”
