Melbourne Cup Luncheon
It's time for the race that stops the nation – the Melbourne Cup – and Skycity Darwin has a selection of yummy options lined up for hungry punters.

Executive chef Athol Wark says there’s a huge range of feasts on offer, no matter what fashionable fillies are after.
The main event will be held at the Grand Ballroom with a three-course lunch and three-hour beverage package, plus live entertainment, a fashion parade, fashions on the field, and lucky door prizes.
Il Piatto, The Vue, Sandbar and The Sportsbar also have a great range of luncheon options available, says Wark.
“We’re set up with a beautiful view opposite the bay and Mindil Beach – it’s a great location with great company and great food,” Wark says.
The chef says he enjoys taking part in the fun. He goes with his gut feeling and favourites on the day, and loves to cook up a storm for all the guests.
Wark says seafood is always a favourite and goes well with watching horse racing.
“Meals are light, balanced and have delicate flavours for the midday sitting,” he says.
Off The Leash had a little sneak peek of what guests will enjoy at the Grand Ballroom Luncheon – the menu includes prosciutto wrapped chicken breast, scallop and lobster yuba roll, and Nutella cheese. Yum!
