Ladies Long Lunch
Ladies of Darwin, turn on your out-of-office notifications, it's time to lunch long and raise money for a great cause.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Darwin, the 2017 Darwin Ladies Long Lunch brings women together to eat, drink and network with others, while raising money for the important work of Menzies School of Health.
Over the past two years the event has raised more than $100,000 for HealthLAB, a Menzies project addressing chronic disease in Indigenous Communities that was started by Rotary Member, the late Dr Sue Mayers.
This year includes special guest speakers Dr Donna Odegaard, CEO of Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia and Logie Award winning actor, comedian and writer Mary Coustas who some might remember as the hilarious screen character Effie. Associate Professor Heidi Smith-Vaughan from Menzies is also speaking, with an open forum for discussion.
Rotary Club President Mark Taylor says the success of the lunch proves how generous the Darwin community is when it comes to raising money for a good cause.
“Local businesses come out to sponsor the event, donate prizes and buy tables for the day itself. And this year is shaping up to be another success.”
