Festive Feels

with Hannah Illingworth.

Lachie Durrington, 21, Automotive Mechanic

Favourite thing to do when it’s raining?
Mostly eat food, might throw a movie on and fall asleep halfway through and sleep the rest of the day – rain makes me sleepy.

Favourite thing about the festive season?
Definitely the food, but Christmas in general is my favourite time of the year – I’ll be a kid forever.

Favourite rainy hideout?
Home.

Do you have some time off or work to do?
Ah, unfortunately I only get the public holidays off. Being a mechanic gets pretty hectic at this time – everybody needs their tyres and services for their Christmas camping getaways and travels.

Favourite thing to do when it’s raining?
I love watching movies when it’s raining. Cuddling up on the couch and watching something is so relaxing when you can hear the rain as well.

Favourite thing about the festive season?
This time of year is so stress free for me! I’ve finished school for the year and I just get to spend time with my family. I love Christmas and it means that there’s lots of Christmas carols on that I love being part of!

Favourite rainy hideout?
My bed! Anywhere where it is dry and cosy for me.

Do you have some time off or work to do?
As a singer who does lots of gigs I don’t really have ‘time off’. My job is all year long and this is actually the best time of year because of the carols! I love singing in them and there’s also a lot of opportunities for end of year Christmas parties and functions that I get to sing at, which is great fun!

Favourite thing to do when it’s raining?
Definitely sleeping. I also like driving when it’s raining or just standing outside to enjoy the rain drops.

Favourite thing about the festive season?
Family time – eating together and enjoying each other’s company. I also enjoy shopping.

Favourite rainy hideout?
My room – a library would do too!

Do you have some time off or work to do?
I have work to do.
