D-Town Battles

Looking for a way to celebrate the end of the year? This youth festival features an array of hip hop elements, including breakdancing, spray and stencil art, spoken word and live performances.

Initiated by City of Darwin Youth Services, partnered with youth mental health advocate agency Headspace and produced by Launch emerging producer Jeremiah Rasing, this festival
will not only be fun, it will help raise awareness for mental health and the positive impact of creativity.

Catch a free sneak peek at Casuarina Square previewing some of Darwin’s most talented hip hop performing artists, including performances from Dance Crews Some of US and D*City Rockers.

The full festival, held at Darwin’s iconic Brown’s Mart Theatre, includes a range of hip hop workshops such as breakdancing with Aaron Lim, hip-hop dance with Jess Fork and rap music production with Tornts. For the main course, D-TOWN Battles involves Darwin’s hottest breakdancers competing for their chance to take the title – there’s even a $200 gift voucher donated by Casuarina Square up for grabs!
