The Bindi Digital Art Prize wants to see your creativity. Entries are open to anyone in Australia, across all ages, abilities and experience levels. This month, it’s time to grab a device, get creating, and submit your art.

DIGITAL ART IS a unique creative space. Anyone can embark on an artistic adventure with devices already in their very own pocket.
This Prize has a passion for digital art as a form that facilitates accessibility, inclusion and experimentation. While it’s now open to anyone, it originated with the Bindi Digital Art Program, where people with a range of abilities come together twice a week to create art with genuine joy, and the spirit of that inclusivity and celebration is in this Prize’s DNA.
“The digital art sessions at Bindi are honestly a party. People make multiple pieces of art, and we're running from the printer ... we're all clapping, putting it all over the walls. It’s such a celebration of everyone’s skills and creative abilities,” says Ginger Rankin, facilitator of the Bindi Digital Art Program.
The Prize is open to experienced artists, emerging artists, those who may not traditionally identify as artists, rural artists, remote artists, and anyone of any age who wants to give it a crack.
“Often, people who don't consider themselves artists probably already are, because they're making digital art without even realising. You can go for a walk with your tech, record something, draw something, film something and put it all together. You can be really quick and playful, or experiment and take your time,” says Rankin.
“Digital forms break boundaries of what we might think of as art. Someone could submit a TikTok into the Prize, and we'd love it. The range of styles we’ll accept is really broad, and if you’re not sure, we’re always open to a conversation.”
Accepted formats include photography, animation, video, digital drawings, mixed-media and more. While AI-assisted work may be considered, entrants must clearly explain how and why it was used, needing to demonstrate genuine personal creativity rather than AI-generated output.
This Prize puts an emphasis on reclaiming digital art from AI, celebrating the very human resonance that happens when people use digital forms to express the beauty, humour, passion and personality of their own lives.
“The work we've loved seeing and that's been really successful is the stuff that's very self-expressive and individual in style, made about the things people see and love in their own world.”
Each entrant can submit up to four works. First prize is awarded $3,000, Highly Commended and People’s Choice $500 each, and an exhibition in October will display shortlisted entrants, with works available for sale.
