10 Years At The Top
In July 2007 Off The Leash was launched onto the Darwin arts scene, a timely what’s-on-guide to the Top End full of art, music, theatre, film and community events, all featuring bold and bright covers of Territory artists, art and culture.
Since then, the magazine has grown in both size and scope, delivering comprehensive info, interviews and articles to thousands of readers in Darwin and beyond.
To celebrate 10 years at the top, Off The Leash (OTL) is holding a pop-up exhibition of a decade of OTL covers, in all their glory, at Paul Johnstone Gallery.
“Our early issues featured favourite Territory artists like Shellie Morris and Leah Flanagan,” says Managing Editor Roslyn Perry.
“Over the years we’ve had some incredible photographs and art on our covers, including Sunrize Band, Chooky Dancers, Rob Brown and Winsome Jobling – just to name a few!
“Gradually we moved towards vibrant single artworks that really stand out in the tabloid-sized format.”
The weekend-long exhibition will have all 10 years – 108 covers – on display, as well as copies of the mag, so you can re-live and reminisce over the iconic gigs, festivals and interviews of the past.
