Swan Lake

THE VICTORIAN STATE BALLET takes to the Darwin Entertainment Centre stage this month with two performances of Swan Lake.

Recognised as one of the world’s most famous ballets and performed to the familiar score of Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake tells the doomed love story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette.

One night whilst on a hunt, the Prince happens upon a group of swans, chasing them into the darkness. But he’s stunned when one of them transforms into a beautiful young woman, Princess Odette, who explains that she and her friends are under a spell, turned into swans by the evil Baron Von Rothbart.

The spell can only be broken if someone who has never loved before swears an oath of undying love and promises to marry her. The Prince declares his love and promises to be loyal forever – but is it enough?

Bring family and friends along, and experience the sheer delight and beauty of this ballet classic.

Swan Lake FRI 18 OCT, 10AM | SAT 19 OCT, 7.30PM DARWIN ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE | $25-$55 | yourcentre.com.au
