Feel the Rhythm of the Beat

SINCE 1979, The Beat Festival has given Northern Territory school students the chance to get on stage and show off their creative skills in a performance extravaganza each year.

More than 1000 students perform in this large-scale, combined-schools production, coordinated by the NT Music School and the Beat Foundation, showcasing the high quality work of NT schools.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of The Beat with the production of Forté – and it is set to be a biggie! Audiences are treated to a singing choir of about 300, 25-piece orchestra, dance groups and physical performers, rock bands, soloists and other musicians, and talented vocalists aged 12-18 – all presented with great lighting, sound and visuals.

Head along to see the NT’s next generation of talented young folks, and appreciate the dedication, commitment and creativity of the teachers who nurture that talent.
