The Betoota Advocate Roadshow Spectacular

The blokes from The Betoota Advocate will strap on their boots and bring the news to the stage as part of their world-first Australian tour.

Clancy Overell and Errol Parker are bringing Australia’s most prolific satirical newspaper and podcast to Darwin to share how they managed to keep the paper in the black in fraught times for print media.

“It’s a national roadshow, and a chance for us to share the story of our newspaper – and explain how we managed to survive the invention of the internet without merging with Channel Nine,” the pair said when they announced the tour.

“This is the first of its kind, it’s the first time The Advocate has been  invited to spearhead such a project,” Overell says.

“Since our transition into digital media in 2014, we’ve garnered this cult-like following around the country and we felt it time to head out on the road to share the story with everyone.”

“It should be good, I’m looking forward to it,” Parker adds.

Recent stories from the lads include ‘Millennials Begin Poking Needles Into Vacant Investment Properties To Drive Down House Prices’, and ‘Scientists Successfully Teach Gorilla To Read At Daily Telegraph Level’.

The 90-minute show will lift the veil on the operations of the newspaper and take audiences through the most iconic moments in the  Advocate’s storied history.
