The Fast Five - Sara Storer

MUCH-LOVED AUSSIE MUSO and former Katherine school teacher Sara Storer is bringing her Raindance tour to the Territory, and hopefully with it, some cool rains for our Wet season ahead. She answered The Fast Five for us.

What’s the first album you ever bought?

The first album, vinyl record, was George Boy’s Culture Club titled Colour By Numbers. I got it for a Christmas present sometime in the ‘80s and I clearly remember my brothers throwing it on top of the rainwater tank!

If you could see any artist or band – living or dead – this weekend, who would it be?

I would see Elvis Presley and I’d take a bunch of girlfriends. I’m not overall fussed on his music but I think he’s the biggest spunk. I think if our eyes ever locked together I may have become Mrs. Presley.

Whose posters did you have stuck to the wall as a teenager?

Not a lot of posters, but one in particular was Nik Kershaw. I loved his music. Unfortunately I don’t have his poster anymore, I’ve replaced him with a “Stay OUT of Mum’s bedroom!” sign on the door.

What song would you like played at your funeral?

Never thought about that before... But now you’ve got me thinking because it’s not that far away! I would like something really sad to make everyone miss me – something that mentions cooking and cleaning and how good they all had it.

Finish this sentence. The thing people would be surprised to know about me…I’ve never modelled before. I know! I do work hard at this body, many lengthy walks to the fridge. I hate with a passion cucumber and celery and I once cried watching an episode of Days Of Our Lives when Ma Horton died.
