The Fast Five with Vika Bull

THE APIA GOOD TIMES TOUR returns for its 7th anniversary with a rockin’ line-up including Vika and Linda Bull, Brian Cadd, Joe Camilleri, Kate Ceberano, Russell Morris, Ross Wilson and John Paul Young.

Vika Bull (pictured left) answered The Fast Five for us.

What’s the first album you ever bought?

Sherbet's Howzat – I bought in on vinyl at Doncaster Shoppingtown. Actually, Mum bought it because I passed my piano exam with flying colours and she said I could have whatever I wanted, and I wanted the Sherbet Howzat record. I wish I still had that album but a lot of Tongans used to come to our house and help themselves to the record collection.

If you could see any artist or band – living or dead – this weekend, who would it be?

I would love to see The Warumpi Band. They had so many great songs, and that George fella on lead vocals was one of the most charismatic front men I think I had ever heard or seen. I would take Linda, of course, because she loved them too.

Whose posters did you have stuck to the wall as a teenager?

Daryl Braithwaite, of course! No, I don't still have them ‘cause Mum thought they were stupid and she hated Daryl's satin pants…

What song would you like played at your funeral?

‘Amazing Grace’ sung by Elvis Presley and the Tongan Lord’s Prayer.

Finish this sentence. The thing people would be surprised to know about me…

Is that I can tread water for 30 minutes, no problem!
