Terrorfest
Over the past several years Terrorfest has become a staple in the heavy music scene in Darwin. Catering to hardcore lovers in the Top End, Terrorfest showcases some of the Northern Territory’s best local heavy metal bands. Moving from its original location at Brown’s Mart Theatre, Terrorfest will be held at The Chippo this year, in loving memory of Pedro Swift.
This year’s line up also includes some big interstate names, with Sydney’s Hellions headlining and Auckland import Advocates coming up from their new hometown of Melbourne. Alice Springs death metal five-piece Miazma is on the bill, as well as local acts We Burn Bridges, Clever Monkey, Acid City and Under Duress just to name a few. The festival is also the final chance to catch local acts Kingdom of Decay and I, The Burden, who will be thrashing out their Darwin-grown death metal on-stage for the last time.
Top End Terror has been running this event in the Northern Territory since 2009. Initially created to support Darwin’s small but dedicated hardcore music industry, Terrorfest has grown into an annual event in Darwin, Alice Springs and Townsville.
