Jess Ribeiro
Darwin expat Jess Ribeiro released the critically acclaimed Kill it Yourself album earlier this year, and has just been nominated for two The Age Music Victoria Awards for Best Song (Hurry Back to Love) and Best Female Artist. Don’t miss this Darwin favourite as she brings her unnervingly beautiful style back to town.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The Beardy Brothers. They were a Roy Orbison cover band, and they played at a hall. I was 6. I went with Mum, my baby brother and Nana.
What’s your favourite album of all time?
Transformer by Lou Reed. We had limited records growing up and I'm lazy in discovering new artists.
My friends would describe me as...
Panderish. Like a panda.
Whose posters did you have stuck to the wall when you were a teenager?
The Doors.
Creative writing challenge – describe your sound in three words.
Come. Find. Out.
