Making Things Happen
Got a creative idea you’ve been dying to make happen but don’t quite know where to start? A new initiative from Artback NT, the Artback NT Producers Callout, may just provide the support you need to turn your dreams into reality.
Essentially a mentorship program, the callout is designed to help emerging producers. With a stipend, dedicated space at the Artback office, mentoring from Artback’s Performing Arts Manager, Liz Rogers, and cash to put towards a proposed project, the program gives those wanting to gain a foothold in the producing game the resources to do so.
“Often people have great ideas but maybe they can’t take time off work to do the groundwork that’s required to properly produce,” Rogers explains.
By offering guidance and financial support, the program hopes to discover new voices and projects.
“It’s the first time we’ve done it, so we’re interested in seeing who comes in and what ideas they’ve got.”
The callout is broad – ideas can involve theatre, dance, festivals and music. As long as Artback thinks the project is viable from the Expression of Interest, you’re in with a chance.
With EOIs closing mid-June, the successful applicant can get cracking in July and has a year to work on their dream project. Sound good? Apply today!
