Wagait Arts Show

It’s time to head Beyond the Jetty for the third annual Wagait Arts Show!

The Arts Show highlights talented artists from Wagait and Belyuen – two remote communities on the Cox Peninsula – and delivers a weekend chock-a-block full of art and fun.

Wagait Arts Group (WAG) Treasurer Chris Chaplin says the Arts Show has gone from strength to strength since its inception. “The exhibition has exceeded our expectations each year, and this year, there will be over 20 artists participating with a broad range of skills," said Chaplin. The exhibition highlights talented artists from two remote communities on the Cox Peninsula, and the quality of art is of the highest standard.”

There’s $1500 in prizes up for grabs or categories including Best 2D, Best 3D and People’s Choice, and a $100 art voucher for the best Under 18 piece. The exhibition will be held in the Wagait Beach Supermarket gardens, run by Chris and his wife, as the outdoor eating area is transformed to an art exhibition area. The weekend also offers theatre and poetry workshops, circus performance, spear throwing and a chainsaw sculpting demonstrating, making it the perfect escape for the weekend.

Catch the ferry to Mandorah and jump on the mini bus – it will deliver you to the way to the action!
