Sweet Dreams and Gut Reactions by Pamela Kleemann-Passi
Pamela Kleemann-Passi presents a bedroom installation composed of life-sized hair-covered garments and objects. Hair, a loaded signifier bodily and culturally, is simultaneously subject – object, on your head or on another’s head, and abject, as waste on the salon floor or a stray in your food. The work explores illness and embodies the polarities of desire and disgust that hair provokes. The world-first Mo-Hair Suit crafted from men’s facial hair for Movember last year is also on show.
