Nyaparu (William) Gardiner

Nyaparu (William) Gardiner was an artist and a storyteller. For years, he recorded and wrote Nyangumarta language and stories while painting about his childhood in the 1940s and his work on pastoral stations throughout the Pilbara and the Kimberley. For the last few years of his life, Nyaparu lived in Port Hedland, his childhood home. This extraordinary exhibition, held posthumously, is a physical record of Nyaparu's incredible life.
