Disposophobia by Jane Kennedy

Disposophobia explores our attachment to inanimate objects, from the extreme obsessive hoarding to sentimental attachments to objects we hold dear. Why do we find it difficult to throw away an old doll? It is just plastic after all. We are caught between a world of new, exciting cheap toys that are loved briefly then discarded, and the obsession we have with hoarding objects that connect us to fading memories. Here we attempt to compartmentalise and make sense of these attachments.
