On 15 July 1893 the first execution in the Northern Territory was carried out at Her Majesty’s Gaol and Labour Prison at Fannie Bay. One hundred and thirty years later, gather for a smoking ceremony and learn more about the life and experiences of Charlie Flannigan and this historic site with local historian Don Christophersen and MAGNT Curator of Territory History, Jared Archibald.
Bring a hat and bottle of water as the gaol site can be hot and wear practical footwear as the audio tour leads you around the historic site and across uneven surfaces.
